Peace and Conflict Resolution

“A National Force Empowering Somalia’s Resilience”

Peace and Conflict Resolution

In a region marred by decades of conflict and instability, SAAH’s emphasis on peace and conflict resolution is paramount to fostering sustainable development. By adopting a holistic and non-radical approach, the organization seeks to address social issues through positive solutions, promoting peacebuilding initiatives that resonate with the local context. Through community engagement and dialogue, SAAH plays a vital role in mediating conflicts and building bridges for reconciliation. By nurturing understanding and trust among different factions, the organization promotes a culture of peaceful coexistence and collaboration. SAAH’s tireless efforts in advocating for peaceful resolutions empower communities to actively participate in shaping their own futures and contribute to the stabilization and rebuilding of Somalia.

General Protection
SAAH recognizes the overarching importance of general protection measures to safeguard the human rights and dignity of all individuals affected by displacement and conflict. Through a comprehensive and rights-based approach, SAAH works tirelessly to advocate for the protection of vulnerable populations, regardless of age, gender, or background. By conducting protection monitoring and assessment, the organization identifies risks and vulnerabilities faced by the affected communities, enabling tailored interventions. SAAH’s presence and engagement within the communities create safe spaces for open dialogue and support, fostering a protective environment that promotes social cohesion and resilience.

Child Protection

Children constitute one of the most vulnerable groups in crisis situations, requiring specialized care and attention. SAAH’s child protection initiatives prioritize the well-being and rights of children affected by displacement. Through community-based child protection mechanisms, SAAH seeks to prevent and respond to various forms of abuse, exploitation, and violence against children. By facilitating access to education, psychosocial support, and recreational activities, the organization aims to restore a sense of normalcy and childhood for affected children. SAAH also collaborates with local authorities and partners to reunite separated children with their families, ensuring their safety and holistic development.
Gender-Based Violence (GBV)
The issue of Housing, Land, and Property rights is critical for displaced populations in Somalia. SAAH works to protect and promote the rights of individuals and communities concerning housing, land, and property ownership. By providing legal assistance and awareness on HLP rights, SAAH empowers displaced families to assert their rightful claims and prevent forced evictions and dispossession. The organization collaborates with local authorities and stakeholders to establish secure tenure systems and land dispute resolution mechanisms, promoting stability and social cohesion. Through livelihood support and income generation programs, SAAH also aims to enhance access to housing and property, ensuring that affected communities can rebuild their lives and secure a sustainable future.
